About

Andre Smit is a freelance choreographer, currently residing in Taipei, Taiwan.
As performer, his credits include "Equus" (directed by Roy Sargeant, 1999-2000), as well as physical theatre productions,
such as Samantha Prigge-Pienaar's "
War of the Worlds" and "The Rite To Remain Silent".
Most recently, he appeared in "Romeo+Juliet+Juliet+Romeo" (directed
by Marthinus Basson), in which he was also credited (and nominated) the choreography.
In 2011, he directed and choreographed the stage production,
"Theory of Ghosts".
This is a showcase of clips and photographs of his choreographed
work, earlier performances and inspirations.
As choreographer, he finds it more exciting to work with older performers, or those without classical training.
